Why you should care
For some reason, this generation follows the “I don’t give a fuck” attitude as a dogma rather than a situationally recommended thought. To not give a fuck seems to instantly boost how others view you, or so people think. Rather, people don’t think about anything they do because “YOLO” as if that justifies everything. I could sit here and type up a list of things which could go completely wrong in your life due to this “do now, worry never” mentality, but I’ll try to take the other route. Without further adieu, welcome to Giving a Fuck 101.
- Your life won’t be a complete waste. I don’t understand how, nor why, caring immediately became equated with destroying your life, not enjoying your life, and wasting yourself in some mindless government facility. This odd and rather unnecessary link is nothing but false. To care, say about your future, you set up goals; goals lead to motivation and eventually a sense of accomplishment. When you care, you have a purpose and thus live your life constantly challenging yourself;pushing yourself to new heights. No matter how long you try to “not give a fuck” you will, at some point, find yourself giving a fuck about what you wasted and what you could have had.
- You will enjoy yourself. I do, and there isn’t a person I know that does things which they truly enjoy and care about who doesn’t enjoy themselves everyday. What’s more, in more extreme situations, they don’t have to give a fuck about how they spend their spare time due to the fact that they are swimming in money earned from the jobs you were too lazy to take up because you “don’t give a fuck.”
- People will actually admire you. There won’t be a day to day need to prove yourself, you will prove yourself to yourself and others will follow.
