Today

A kid in my Chemistry class showed me what he does when he is thinking but can’t really write down full thoughts. It was interesting, in my opinion, he would write fragmented thoughts and short questions onto the outer margins of a loose-leaf sheet of paper. I only read through it for a few seconds but he had written down questions which I have asked myself before but had forgotten. The most memorable one was “Why do I think?” It took me by surprise to read that; It seems to me, that it is a question which is quite possibly impossible to answer with pure thoughts. In fact, if I were to visualize the intensity with which that question hit me, it acted like a hole materializing in my brain which forced a whirlpool to form in the depths of my mind.

So, why do you think?
